You might find this interesting. I didn’t even know the U-2 was still in use.

Also for TDIAH, a few dates that don’t seem to be in there yet:

I’ve got that refueling event covered. In fact, that’s not even the first aerial refueling. That was done by a couple of barnstormers when one of them strapped a can of gas to his back and climbed from the wing of one plane to the wing of another. Not practical, but technically earlier.

And then there was this:

A KB-29, top, refuels Lucky Lady II , a B-50, during the first nonstop flight around the world in 1949.

They’ll be flying over Warsaw on September 1.

One of the owners of the company I work for will be flying his P51 Mustang in this.

The National Warplane Museum is great. I grew up really close to Geneseo and got to see their planes a few times. I saw the other week that they are in the test flight phase of completing a Fokker D VII restoration.

Which Mustang? Do you have a pic?

I’d love to see the Fokker. Are they doing it in the pink camouflage? That was always one of my favorites.

Interestingly, when they were trying to decide what color to paint the F-117, they discovered that pink is actually harder to see than black, but real men don’t fly pink airplanes so they went with black. Maybe zee Germans were onto something back in the day.

It doesn’t look like it but there may be some pink in there

Cool. Just wondering if I’ve ever seen it before (I haven’t). It’s a Cavalier Mustang . You can tell by the taller tail.
